Collins Building & Civil Engineering Ltd was engaged to deliver specialist civil engineering works at the 35 MW Scartaglen Wind Farm, located near the village of Scartaglen in County Kerry. The project also included construction of a 38 kV substation onsite.
Scope of Works
Collins BCE provided a full suite of services tailored to the technical and environmental requirements of the site:
- Turbine Bases & Crane Hardstands
- Precise readymix concrete works and reinforcement forming base plates for 12 Siemens SWT‑3.2‑101 turbines.
- Access Roads & Site Earthworks
- Construction of new site roads with stone & aggregate surfacing for heavy-lift access.
- 38 kV Substation Civil Works
- Groundworks, foundations and structural support designed and built for the substation infrastructure.
- Trenching, Ducting & Drainage
- Provision of electrical cabling trenches, utility ducting, and sustainable drainage systems.
- Environmental and Site Reinstatement
- Sensitive site protection and landscaping to preserve the rural landscape and comply with planning conditions.
