Collins Building & Civil Engineering Ltd was responsible for the full enabling and fit-out works at the Castletroy Primary Care Centre, as part of a project commissioned by Pery Partners and delivered to the HSE. The new facility, located in the Castletroy Park commercial area, serves as a comprehensive frontline healthcare centre for the Limerick community
Scope of Civil Works
Our team delivered a complete suite of works, transforming the site into a modern, fit-for-purpose health facility:
- Enabling & Site Preparation: Full site clearance, earthworks, grading, and surfacing to support construction activities.
- Structural Fit-Out of Existing Building: Internal fit-out to house GP rooms, treatment areas, consulting spaces, and staff facilities.
- Site Works & Services: Installation of ducting, drainage, stormwater systems, and full M&E provisions.
- Control & Ancillary Works: Building of temporary and permanent support structures to facilitate the fit-out phase.
- Security & Access: Fencing, pedestrian walkways, and external finishes to improve site safety and accessibility.
Smooth Delivery in a Complex Environment
- Situated in a live commercial park with limited access, timing and coordination were key:
- Temporary enabling structures supported safe construction alongside occupied neighbouring units.
- Efficient installation of stormwater and drainage systems ensured no interruption to existing site traffic.
- Close collaboration with Pery Partners and HSE stakeholders ensured the building was fully operational by November 2018.
Serving the Community
Now fully open, the centre offers a range of services including GP clinics, physiotherapy, community nursing, and more, operating during daytime hours throughout the week. It supports streamlined, accessible healthcare for the Castletroy area.
